Media Project Management

Paul Figgiani over on the Podcast Academy blog tells us about a simple, effective tool (hack?) for managing media projects.

It’s based on the concept of “zones” – areas within a folder where you decide to place different media assets for a particular project.

You can designate these zones by simply creating an image in Photoshop (or Gimp, or Seashore of whatever floats your boat). Then in the Finder menu (View : Show View Options) check “Picture” for the background of that folder. Select the image you created and now your folder will have the appropriate “zones”.

I like it. I’m going to use it for ODM production.

Thanks, Paul.
