Quirky "Ray" may be the coolest solar charger evah

A solar charger is a convenient, eco-friendly way to charge your gear on the go but is typically required to rest on a flat surface in the sun in order to work properly. The folks at Quirky have figured out how to fix that.

Their Ray solar charger adheres to a window with a suction cup and is perfect for attaching it indoors, on an airplane (if you have a window seat!) or in a taxi. It will charge any device that uses USB as a source. (Except the iPad and similar high-voltage devices.)

Even better: it has a built-in battery, so you can juice up Ray when you have sunlight and still charge your gadgets when you don't.

It's available for pre-sale on but it won't ship until they reach 2000 orders. At the time of this writing, there are only 732 pre-sold, so tell your friends.
