Gmail's Mail Fetcher will support POP3

While I was able to get Gmail Mobile running on my Treo 700p, it's still not as good as using Chatteremail with a standard POP3 or, dare I say it, IMAP account.

Google is going to release Gmail Mail Fetcher which will allow you to retrieve mail from as many as five POP3 accounts.

If Google respects the standard "delete mail on server when deleted in mail application," this could be the answer to my mobile mail challenge while using Gmail.

Google Operating System has the details - and screenshots.
