Hear This: Dr. Robert Cialdini on The Psychology of Persuasion

Ramsey McGrory of Right Media turned me on to this: has an audio archive of a presentation by Dr. Robert Cialdini, author of Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion.

Originally recorded for The Stanford Channel, Stanford University's cable channel broadcast to the Stanford/Palo Alto area, it's a short (50 minutes) overview of the Six Principles of Persuasion as outlined in Cialdini's book:

  1. Reciprocation

  2. Committment and Consistency

  3. Social Proof

  4. Liking

  5. Authority

  6. Scarcity

It's definitely a worthwhile listen.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find an audiobook version of his book, so it looks like I'll have to make some time to read the dead tree version.
