zeitĀ·geist | Pronunciation: 'tsIt-"gIst, 'zIt | Function: noun | Etymology: German, from Zeit (time) + Geist (spirit) | Date: 1884 | Meaning: the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era

I love peering into people's lives. Not literally, of course, but in the form of trends.

Here are some entries from Google's Zeitgeist:

Last week

Gaining: Valentine's day related queries including e-cards, hearts and cupid.

Declining: Football related including superbowl, superbowl commercials and Janet Jackson. ;)

Popular: Tsuanami, Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera. (Again.)

Technology: FREE seems to be on people's mind: Free phone calls (skype); free music (mp3); free files (bit torrent, kazaa); and ringtones.

In addition to Google's Zeitgeist, I also like's Consumer Demand Index, Josh Rubin's Cool Hunting and PSFK.

What else should I be reading?
