The last time I was a frequent consumer of music, guys like Vince Neil and C.C. DeVille were strutting around on stage in animal print spandex and bands had names like "Faster Pussycat" and "MegaDeth." ('cause you know, the only thing worse than Death is "Deth", especially when it's "Mega"...)
I just realized that this month alone I've purchased more music from the iTunes Music Store than I have in the past 15 years.
And, as I've said before, the same applies to my consumption of books: I now "read" 3 to 4 books a month, thanks to Audible. The last time I was able to do that, I was in college. The time pressures of modern life (marriage + fatherhood + "this old house" + career aspirations + ...) just don't allow me to spend time with some good dead tree.
Long live the revolution! What's next? Brain implants, so I can catch up on missed movies while sleeping? Call it "TiVo for your Brain..."
